This has been one of the busy terms yet for the Science Hub and we have lots of new projects going on so keep reading to find out more…..
We also began two long term Science and Technology projects with two local schools – Corpus Christi and Our Lady of Lourdes and have really enjoyed our time with them so far! Corpus Christi have been working on Scratch programming and Digital photography while Our Lady of Lourdes have been working on other areas of the Primary Science Curriculum.
Our Science Magic Shows have been explosively popular (LITERALLY) again this term having been performed in several schools as well as at the MegaDojo even in LIT which saw young coders from all over the country come together for a day of STEM fun!
We have started a Sci-Fi movie night in conjuction with Chez Le Fab Cafe in Limerick city centre and the first one was a great success. Our first screening was of the 1956 classic “Forbidden Planet”. The night was great fun and the Cafe is spectacular with lovely hot drinks and food on offer so check it out if you haven’t already!!
On top of all of this we have also been running our usual schedule of Science and Creative Writing workshops with schools from all over Limerick & Clare, as well as our afterschool club on Thursdays who are currently preparing for the BT Primary Science Fair in January.
We will be keeping you updates on all of our activities throughout the year so watch this space!
