The Mood Food Collective is a spin off from an on going socially engaged project Eating Knowledge. Eating knowledge was created to provide awareness of unhealthy eating through the exposure of ʻjunk foodʼ branding and advertising towards young people. Numerous studies have found weigh gain in children to be associated with the exposure of food and beverage advertising. As a result, there is a need to inform children about the targeting and promotion of unhealthy food to create an environment that is supportive of healthy lifestyle and promoting wellbeing. Mood Food Collective was a six-week workshop that was funded by 02 Think Big and Wave Change of YSI. The workshops took place in the Health Hub Kitchen in the Learning Hub Limerick. The Mood Food Collective worked with different types of mood enhancing foods such as Dark Chocolate, Eggs, Coconut, Breads, Fresh Cod, Sweet Potato, Carrots, and Apples.
