ST. PATRICKS DAY 2014
Our entry for the St.Patricks Day Parade this year took 4 months to complete with young people attending weekly workshops to build relationships with their mentors from UL, MIC, LIT and LCFE. These volunteers provide the Art Hub with incredible expertise and skills. We won the most eco friendly float for our entry this year. The St. Patricks Day Parade art project requires a huge volume of volunteers all getting involved in different elements of the experience from float building to expressive movement and artist guidance, our volunteers make our entries unique, bold and dynamic every year.
This year we focused our attention on saving the Bee’s! Thanks to the help from Limerick’s Buzzing http://www.limericksbuzzing.ie/ Veronica Santorum and Cork based artist Margaret Leahy Walsh and Art Coordinator Lisa Watters and all the young people from the Art Hub who helped with the design and production of the float!
ST. PATRICKS DAY 2012
This year we took a traditional take on the St.Patricks Day Parade and built a huge snake. We also took the opportunity to celebrate each hub from the Learning Hub Limerick. The float took 4 months to complete with young people attending weekly workshops to build relationships with their mentors from UL, MIC, LIT and LCFE. A special thanks to artists Maurice Reidy and Emma O’Neill along with Art Hub Coordinator who helped with the design and construction on the float.

This year the Learning Hub took a funky and vibrant look at the human body. Thanks to all involved especially The Art Hub Coordinator Aine.
ST. PATRICKS DAY 2011
For this year’s parade we had a circus themed entry, Cirque du Sport. Young people began work on their costumes, props, float design, dance moves and choreography as far back as November 2010 coming to the Hub up to three evenings a week to work with their mentors right up to the eve of the parade.
All the work resulted in a wonderful, colourful and energetic St. Patrick’s Day Parade for all and, to top it all, the Learning Hub won ‘Best Float’ for the Learning Hub for the second year running!
