JOINED UP THINKING TO BRING SCHOOL TOURS INTO LIMERICK CITY
Its school tour time again and as teachers and schools look for educational, fun and good value experiences for school groups three organisations in Limerick have decided to team up to provide an innovative and great value offering to primary schools this year.
Thomond Park Museum, The Hunt Museum and Learning Hub Limerick have been working together to offer an 3 venue tour within very close proximity to each other for the amazing price of 8euros per child.
The day will start with a visit to the Hunt Museum and then the children will head over to the Learning Hub for Story Hub or Science Hub followed by an end of day visit to Thomond Park.
The Learning Hub can provide a space for children to eat their packed lunches and this will also keep the cost for parents down.
Manager of the Learning Hub Jennifer Moroney-Ward stated “ We know that schools and parents are really cash strapped this year and we thought it could be a useful solution all round to provide this combined ticket to schools that also reduces entry, food and transport costs”.
Dr Dominque Bouchard Curator of Education and Outreach at The Hunt Museum is also delighted to be part of this school tour partnership;
“ The Hunt Museum is already a very popular choice for schools so we were delighted to work in partnership to develop an offering that gives teachers and schools a really full day out in Limerick City and cuts down on their transport requirements”.
Dorothy Yelverton of Thomond Park museum is equally enthusiastic about this partnership approach to serving school tours to Limerick City.
“Thomond Park is a really popular school tour destination but many teachers were wondering what else Limerick City could provide for a day out – this offers a great value solution and we are delighted to be taking part!”
