Story Hub October 23rd
Today I was an merely an observer of the Learning Hub’s much loved Story Hub, the creative writing hub for primary schools.
However, I am delighted to say that next time, I will be coordinating Story Hub and I am very excited and to take on this role.
Story Hub ready and waiting for the writers to arrive:
The creativity and enthusiasm from the students is inspiring. They do the work, they create,
and we simply take note and produce their work into a book they can take home. They work together
to start the story and then finish it individually, adding their own style and imagination to it;
while our volunteers write up their story on the interactive whiteboard and also illustrate as we go!
Today’s story was my first, and it was a cracker! Here’s a snippet…
“The veins in her eyes turned red, brown and pink. Her fingernails started growing longer and her teeth started getting sharper and sharper.
She began singing, “I’m a great Banshee!”. She screamed, “ AAaaahhhh”.

Artists at work bringing the students stories to life:
Once the stories get the go ahead from the very grumpy (and scary) editor, Mr. Crabtree, they are sent off to the publishers where each student receives their very own copy and author’s credit. So “The Rise of The Banshee” was completed today and is now in the process of being published.
Our Happy Volunteers are always on hand:
Looking forward to the next one and excited to find out what the world of imagination has to offer next.
