On Thursday night the Youth Cafe and Health Hub joined forces to launch the Fitness & Food programme. This 5 week programme aims to give our health conscious members basic information about nutrition and to develop cooking skills with ideas for simple tasty meals. The first night was a great success. We had people researching a wide range of foods and some very interesting discoveries were made and shared. Our kickboxing coach, Paul, was on hand to give useful advice about the right types of food to eat before and after training. Later in the evening the group got to work cooking with eggs. For some people this was their first time cooking and by all accounts it was a great success with delicious banana pancakes and nutritious omelettes being served up at the end of the night. We are looking forward to next week already!
