On a cold February morning the Science Hub was joined by students from the Northside Family Resource Centre. The group donned lab coats and goggles to become scientists for the day as part of the Go For It programme. They got to work using chemicals such as iodine to test for certain elements in food. Using the experiments, our hardworking group determined if food samples contained components like starch, Vitamin C and fat. They were great fun and it was really interesting to see what is actually contained in the food that we put into our bodies every day without thought. At the end of the class Sean displayed an exciting experiment called “Elephants Toothpaste” to round off the morning in style. Thanks for coming everyone, it was a pleasure to see you in the Science Hub!
