Learning Hub Limerick takes to the Limerick City Parade again this year with its most creative endeavour yet. This year Art Hub coordinator Lisa Watters worked closely with Limericks Buzzing Bees to tip our collective caps towards the wild bee who is responsible for over 53 million euro to the Irish economy. The float was a way of highlighting the plight of the wild bee which is becoming increasingly sparse in Limerick and could well become extinct if action isn’t taken soon.
The Learning Hub would like to thank Lisa Watters who put a lot of time an effort organizing everything that went into making the float, Veronica Santorum from Limericks Buzzing Bees and Margaret Leahy Walsh a cork based artist all of who were instrumental in creating the look design and feasibility of the project.
The Hub would also like to thank all the participants in the art hub who worked for weeks to get the finished product looking so well, this video is a testament to their hard work and shows how much fun they had on the day.
Finally a huge thank you has to bee given to Colin Bartley who designed and created the flower float.
