Art, Photography and Community Arts involve over 100 young people on a weekly basis in the art programmes here at the Hub. Workshops are weekly and also form a fundamental part of all our holiday provision and camps. We work closely with young people to identify their areas of interest and also get referrals from schools where teachers and parents see artistic talent emerging. Many of our arts programmes also link seamlessly with the Digi Hub with many students interested in exploring the potential of multimedia to express their artistic goals.
Our entry for the St.Patricks Day Parade takes 4 months to complete with young people attending weekly workshops to build relationships with their mentors from UL, MIC, LIT and LCFE. These volunteers provide the Art Hub with incredible expertise and skills. We have won first prize over the years and more recently won the most eco friendly float for our entry this year. The St. Patricks Day Parade art project requires a huge volume of volunteers all getting involved in different elements of the experience from float building to expressive movement and artist guidance, our volunteers make our entries unique, bold and dynamic every year.
